Former howard university professor
Chicago, september 4th. A former howard university professor and palestinian activist suspected of links to the islamic resistance movement, or hamas, is due to be jailed for another 4.5 years for refusing to testify before a grand jury investigating the means and work of the terrorist group.
Abdelhalim ashkar, who taught at howard for five years, drew national attention with a six-month hunger strike in 1998 when he was imprisoned for refusing to cooperate with a new york city grand jury. In a proper case in 20th month in chicago, charles p. Kokoras, chief judge of the u.S. District court for the northern district of illinois, found ashkar again in civil contempt of court for refusing to engage in dialogue with an extended jury even once he had been granted immunity. / >If the ailment does not win the appeal, ashkar said he would take friday flights to chicago to go to jail, but he called not taking part in it a "witch hunt" against palestinians fighting with israeli oppression.
“They turned my existence into torment or hell, making me surrender, become a traitor, an accomplice against my people,” he said today in a telephone interview from his residence in alexandria . "I'd rather die than do this."
The grand jury testimony is classified, and the federal authorities do not testify that the case has stalled. “There are no publicly available court records for any such case,” said randall samborn, a spokesman for u.S. Attorney patrick j. Fitzgerald. Islamic resistance activists in philadelphia in 1993 and oxford, mississippi, where building materials was a graduate student, in 1994. Hamas was declared a terrorist organization by the states and israel in 1995. In a colombian case involving an islamic charity, us district judge gladys kessler ruled in 2002 that ashkar was a "high-ranking hamas activist." He has never been charged or charged with a crime.
The fbi has stepped up investigations since november 2019 into alleged supporters of hamas and hezbollah, two middle eastern groups backed by arab and muslim communities. The renewed effort https://parkingnearairports.io/FLL/hyatt-place-fll.html is the result of a federal court ruling last fall that allowed government agents to use secret copies of phone calls and intelligence reports from foreign security agents that were previously prohibited. Of these were wiretapping of ashkar's calls from his mississippi apartment.
Ashkar, 45, came to the us towards the end of 1989 to study at ole miss through a us agency-sponsored scholarship project. For international development. In 1997, he received his phd in industrial operations driving from the university of mississippi business school. Here, in a similar apartment, a listening was installed.
He said that in his life he did not hide that he was an activist for the palestinian cause when he was on the west bank and eventually came to the united states.
But ashkar said his serious trouble began after his exchange visa expired in 1998, who applied for political asylum, claiming that his outspoken views of israel make him a target, in that situation if he tries to return to the house. There, ashkar said that he did not remain a member of hamas in his life, but actively participated in the business of the palestinians. He edited university periodicals and was director of public relations at the islamic university of gaza, where, according to the provided words, his action was to "expose atrocities at the level of universities and the palestinian people."
Since he left ashkar said his family members were harassed and asked if they wanted to return. Don't ask about the questions used in such an asylum claim, however, ashkar said he has been repeatedly questioned about palestinian activists and places in the united states like over the hill.In what situations he refused to speak, he was imprisoned and released after 6 months, when the judge ruled that his application was not going to cooperate in the next few months.
In the meantime, he worked as an assistant professor at the howard institute , teaching three undergraduate courses in the fall and spring semesters of 2019, in what school officials described as a "temporary" position; prostitutes refused to renew his contract in 2017.
Howard's press secretary j.J. Pryor said she did not believe that ashkar was an intern at the institute, stating that his application had not been researched. She declined to say why the university did not renew the contract.
Ashkar shows that howard's firing was part of an attempt by federal officials to get him to help them sue palestinians in the us and the middle east. He refused to help the effort.
His asylum case and immigration status may have been in limbo. After the september 11, 2001 attacks, according to the words, the authorities tried to use a great variety of document portals in an attempt to bring immigration charges against him and dismiss his asylum case. Ashkar withdrew his application in june.
The same day, he said he had received a subpoena to appear before a grand jury in chicago. His deportation, scheduled for mid-august, was delayed until it was completed.
In two appearances in chicago, he did exactly what the hired man had done earlier: refused to speak, was charged with contempt of court and also mid-twentieth month, hired to check in remotely twice a day with federal marshals in chicago, visit his local immigration office twice a week, and agree not to leave virginia.
Ashkar said he no longer wants to be in america and will leave for another state after his current business is settled. But far away he amounts to rest in prison. He said that classes were invented to find means to be a reliable helper to get this material out of prison. , - He said. “I think i will be arrested tomorrow. I'm going to fight back across the legal system.”

An innocent us employee of lockheed martin in saudi arabia.
Expressing personal regret and unforgettable disgust, chairman karim irfan stated: “this beheading is a horrifying act of senseless cruelty that no reason or distorted religious motives can bring to fruition. It is vile that the group that committed this heinous murder, and by the way, claims to defend and declare in the name of islam. His attempts are contrary to the basic principles of islamic ethics, religious standards and moral teachings. Consultation and the muslim community of chicago offer their deepest condolences to mr. Johnson's grieving wife, family, others, and viewers who experience his brutal death.”
Mr. Irfan warned against widespread attribution to this grossly inhuman act compared to saudis, arabs or muslims rules and regulations. We americans cannot allow such bloody acts by a misguided minority of rules and regulations to tarnish our view of the millions of muslims in the states and in the other nation, who remain steadfast in islam's basic precepts of respect, compassion, and mercy to others. These difficult times again ask that the users of faith and moral conscience unite in the world to resist extremism and bloodshed through awareness and reconciliation.”

Mim: the seemingly gaudy and drab bmf website belies the nuance that the images were associated with terrorism and hamas and have come under the special scrutiny of law enforcement agencies for more than a decade. Several of their members, in addition to the recently arrested salah, have been imprisoned or deported for terrorist offences. One of their parishioners was affiliated with the 9'/11 hijackers.
Note that mfw's profile readily boasts of "driving buses with community members (what: with english subtitles) , travels long nights to attend promotions and demonstrations."

The mosque foundation was founded in 1967 and opened its doors in 1981. It was built on a vacant lot surrounded by mostly woodland in bridgeview, ill. After it was built, many said the center was too big and will never be full, as its legal capacity is about 1500. The first few friday prayers in the mosque were held in a line and a half of men and fewer women at the back of the prayer hall.
Today it is one of the largest mosques in the midwest. This is a complete service center that is open almost 24 hours and is open daily. After a major renovation in 1999, the mosque now hosts two friday prayers, two taraweeh prayers and two eid prayers, and there are still people who need to pray outside due to lack of space. Every week, the mosque fund receives about 10,000 people. Three extra parking lots have been added and often you still can't find a place to park.
With two neighboring schools, universal and aqsa, the forested area has completely disappeared and turned into a beautiful area with about 200 new houses. The surrounding area has just grown significantly.
The mosque foundation has a full-time sunday school with over 550 students. Also, a full-fledged youth center was created for our youth. It is a multipurpose center where youth can spend time and learn about their religion instead of walking the streets. The mosque foundation also has a 24-hour bookstore with hundreds of books, audio cassettes and cds for all ages in arabic and english.
Of the many services provided by the mosque foundation, below is a list of the main ones. :
Social service
Marriage
Counseling
Funeral
Monthly seminars
Lectures

Vaccination before the trip

And much moreナ
The people of the community are what makes the mosque foundation what it is today. Without them, the center would be nothing. The community helps in every aspect, especially with their time and money.Any relevant event in the country or even around the world will at least be mentioned if it is not attended. Organized groups and community buses drive through the long nights to attend performances and demonstrations.
