What is Ganoderma Lucidum?

Ganoderma Lucidum, also known as Reishi or Lingzhi in Chinese culture, has long been used as part of traditional Asian medicine to promote wellness and vitality as well as strengthen immunity in humans.

Ganoderma (or Ganoderma) is one of most commonly used mushrooms in modern medicine. It is primarily used as an immunostimulant, but also as a booster for the immune system due to its antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. This mushroom has also been shown to stimulate human natural killing cells directly, thereby increasing the activity levels and stimulating these cells directly.

Ganoderma has also been shown to possess anti-depressant, analgesic, and antibacterial properties; used for treating hepatitis, bronchitis and other infectious diseases; it also acts as an immunomodulator which has been utilized in treating fibromyalgia patients.

Reishi is a basidiomycete mushroom that belongs to the Ganodermataceae group. Traditional Chinese Medicine has long used it to increase life expectancy and vitality. Research studies have demonstrated that Reishi extract contains various bioactive components, including polysaccharides, triterpenes and proteins with various biological activities including anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and diabetes treatment1. Studies also indicate the possibility that Ganoderic Acid A may exert various biological activities including anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and diabetic treatments1.

Reishi mushroom is a main ingredient in many natural cosmetics and food products that are available around the world, particularly in Japan, China, Korea and other Asian countries. Used widely as traditional medicines as well as in skincare and food products; Reishi also features widely in supplements and dietary beverages in North America and elsewhere.

Reishi is a powerful immune stimulant that contains over 100 oxygenated triterpenes. It has been studied for its ability to stimulate natural killer cell activity and boost overall immunity. Reishi possesses antiviral as well anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It also reduces oxidative strain in the liver. Reishi is also able to protect rats from radiation- and chemotherapy induced toxicity.

How is Ganoderma Lucidum produced?

Ganoderma lucidum (commonly known as "red "reishi") is one of the many species that are called "red "reishi." This bracket or shelves fungus is a reddish-brown fungus that can reach 40 inches wide, 4 inches long and a thickness of 4 inches. Believed to possess adaptogenic properties and cultivated for healing benefits. Ganoderma alone has over 400 varieties, with applanatum (for medicinal purposes) and lucidum (for aesthetic purposes).

Ganoderma (also known as Reishi in East Asian culture) is a polypore mushroom that belongs to the Polyporales basidiomycota order. It has been cultivated for its immune-boosting properties and health-strengthening effects. Reishi can reduce stress levels, extend longevity and increase sexual vigilance - among other benefits. This reishi formulation combines powder, capsules and the extract forms.

The purpose of the study was to establish optimal parameters for G.lucidum growth using potato dextrose Agar (PDA), slants, and plates. Our results showed mycelial growth increased with increasing incubation temperatures until 30degC. Then it peaked at that temperature and then declined.

The benefits of medicinal mushrooms on human health are well known and highly valued. Ganoderma lucidum has been a popular mushroom variety for many years. It is valued by its many health advantages and is known as the mushroom coffee red or "king" of medicinal mushrooms.

Reishi, or (in Chinese), can be used to treat conditions including hypertension and insomnia. The fungus has active compounds such triterpenes and Polysaccharides. These may contribute to it's medicinal qualities.

Reishi mushrooms grow best on hardwoods like oak, birch and beech trees, but they can also be found growing in the wild along parkwaysides and hedges. Reishi has been used as medicine for over 4000 years as it is recognized for its health-strengthening, anti-inflammatory and immune-supportive qualities as well as being rich in minerals such as iron potassium and zinc.

Why is Ganoderma Lucidum so beneficial?

Ganoderma Lucidum's immune-enhancing and anti-oxidant properties are well known, especially for its polysaccharide alpha-glucans. This powerful medicinal herb has also shown evidence that it can help protect against harmful free radicals.

As an adaptogen maca can be a powerful source for balance and support when you are under stress. This is due to its abundance in beta-glucans, which boost immunity while promoting circulation.

Reishi (also known as Rei Sheng in Japanese) is widely believed by many to have anti-inflammatory and endurance-enhancing properties. It also helps with fatigue, depression and improves sleep quality.

Ganoderma lucidum can help lower cholesterol by way of its rich supply of peptides that can reduce both blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels, as well as polysaccharides like triterpenes and beta-glucans that contain triterpenes and beta-glucans to decrease LDL (bad) and increase HDL (good) levels.

Both forms of G. lucidum (ethanolic and soluble in water) contain many of same beneficial components as water-soluble extracts. However, because ethanolic extracts are unable to separate polysaccharides and triterpenes from each other for maximum effectiveness, it is best to take both together for maximum benefit.

Studies have shown that G. Lucidum can inhibit adipocytes differentiation and produce hypoglycaemic effect, as well promote immune function to enhance resistance against diseases. Reishi contains polysaccharides which have also shown efficacy in this regard.

Ganoderma lucidum is an exceptional mushroom because it grows in special conditions. Harvesting can also be challenging: 1 kg of product requires harvesting from 1,000kg of spores! Furthermore, collecting the spores without breaking them requires special techniques. It is therefore one of most expensive supplements in the market. ORGANO has perfected a process that allows you to enjoy all the health benefits of Reishi through our organic supplements.

What is the best way of taking Ganoderma Lucidum?

We recommend water-soluble Ganoderma Lucidum extracts to maximize its benefits. While water-soluble extracts might be less concentrated than those made from ethanol, they still contain more of the beneficial compounds. Plus, they are easier to consume.

Our water-soluble Reishi extract combines three components, spores mycelium and lucidum caps into one potent blend to maximize benefit and provide unique health properties. Each part offers unique health benefits and properties: for example spores have high concentrations antioxidants which support immune health, while mycelium acts as a network connecting cells - with antibacterial and antifungal properties. Lastly, the Lucidum cap has powerful polysaccharides that reduce inflammation and support healthy hepatic function.

Reishi can be consumed in many ways. Some people cook with it, while others use powdered or capsule supplements that contain it. It has been shown to treat a wide range of conditions, from cancer and high-blood pressure to arthritis and chronic exhaustion syndrome.

Reishi increases energy levels, lowers cholesterol levels and protects the heart. Its beneficial properties have been shown to reduce anxiety and depression symptoms. Reishi's polysaccharides may have immunostimulatory properties as they help promote proliferation of T and B lymphocytes as well as splenic mononuclear cells, natural killer (NK) cells and dendritic cells - thus providing numerous health benefits.

Organo Gold uses a natural approach to mushroom farming, which results in more Ganoderma spores that are used in its Poudre De Spores Ganoderma. This makes the mushrooms rarer and more valuable than those grown in plastic bags. Our Ganoderma Spores, which look like fine rice powder, can only be harvested when the mushroom reproduces naturally and cannot be replicated artificially. One kilogram of our prized Reishi mushroom powder is made from 1,000kg of this special spore-powder!
