What is Ganoderma Lucidum?

Ganoderma Lucidum (also known as Reishi and Lingzhi) has been used by traditional Asian medicine since ancient times to promote health, vitality and strength of immunity in human beings.

Ganoderma (or Ganoderma) is one of most commonly used mushrooms in modern medicine. It is primarily used as an immunostimulant, but also as a booster for the immune system due to its antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. This mushroom has also been shown to stimulate human natural killing cells directly, thereby increasing the activity levels and stimulating these cells directly.

Ganoderma is a powerful antibacterial, antidepressant, and analgesic. It can be used to treat hepatitis as well as bronchitis or other infectious disease. It acts also as an immunomodulator, which has been used by fibromyalgia sufferers.

Reishi mushrooms, which are part of the Ganodermataceae (basidiomycetes) family, have been used by Traditional Chinese Medicines for centuries to improve health and longevity. Research studies have demonstrated that Reishi extract contains various bioactive components, including polysaccharides, triterpenes and proteins with various biological activities including anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and diabetes treatment1. Studies indicate that Ganoderic Acid A could exert a variety of biological activities, including anti-inflammatory and diabetes treatments1.

Reishi mushrooms are an important component in many natural products manufactured and distributed worldwide, notably those in Japan and China. Reishi mushrooms have been widely used for centuries as traditional medicines and in skincare and food products.

Reishi is a powerful immune stimulant that contains over 100 oxygenated triterpenes. It has been studied due to its ability boost immunity and stimulate the natural killer cell activity. Reishi possesses antiviral as well anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It also reduces oxidative strain in the liver. Reishi is also able to protect rats from radiation- and chemotherapy induced toxicity.

How is Ganoderma Lucidum produced?

Ganoderma Lucidum is a species of fungus that is commonly called "red Reishi." This bracket or'shelf fungus' has an attractive, reddish brown hue. It can grow to over 40 inches long, wide, and 4 inch thick. Believed to possess adaptogenic properties and cultivated for healing benefits. There are over 400 species in Ganoderma, a vast genus. Among them, applanatum and Lucidum are the most popular.

Ganoderma, commonly referred to as Reishi or Ganoderma in East Asian cultures, is a polypore fungus belonging to the Polyporales order of basidiomycota that has long been grown for its health-strengthening and immune-enhancing properties. Reishi can reduce stress levels, extend longevity and increase sexual vigilance - among other benefits. The powder, capsules and extract forms available come together in this reishi formula.

This study's purpose was to establish optimal growth parameters for G. lucidum using potato dextrose agar (PDA) plates and slants. Our results showed that mycelial proliferation increased as the incubation temperature increased until it reached 30degC, whereupon a peak was reached and then decreased over time.

The benefits of medicinal mushrooms on human health are well known and highly valued. Ganoderma is a popular variety of medicinal mushrooms that has been valued by many for years. It's known for its numerous health benefits, and is often referred to the king or red of medicinal mushrooms because of its reddish colour and numerous health benefits.

Reishi (in Chinese) is used to treat conditions like hypertension, insomnia and other diseases. The fungus contains active compounds like triterpenes and polysaccharides which may contribute to its medicinal qualities.

Reishi mushroom grows best on hardwoods such as oak, beech, birch or alder trees. However, they can also grow wild along hedges and parkwaysides. Reishi has been used as medicine for over 4000 years as it is recognized for its health-strengthening, anti-inflammatory and immune-supportive qualities as well as being rich in minerals such as iron potassium and zinc.

Why is Ganoderma Lucidum useful?

Ganoderma Lucidum has been widely recognized for its immune enhancing and antioxidant properties. This is especially true of its polysaccharide -glucans. Additionally, this powerful plant has shown to help protect against free-radicals.

As an adaptogen maca can be a powerful source for balance and support when you are under stress. This is due to its abundance in beta-glucans, which boost immunity while promoting circulation.

Reishi is also known as Rei-sheng in Japanese. It is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties, aid mental and physical endurance and relieve fatigue and depression, while improving sleep and increasing energy.

Ganoderma lucidum helps lower cholesterol through its polysaccharides, such as triterpenes (which can reduce blood cholesterol and triglyceride), and beta glucans (which contain beta glucans). These polysaccharides can decrease LDL levels (bad cholesterol) while increasing HDL levels.

Both ethanolic and water soluble G. lucidum Extracts contain many of these same beneficial components. However, ethanolic is unable to separate the triterpenes and other polysaccharides to achieve maximum effectiveness.

Studies have shown G.lucidum inhibits adipocytes and produces hypoglycaemic results, as well as promoting immune function to increase immunity against diseases. Reishi is rich in polysaccharides. These have also been proven to be effective.

Ganoderma lucidum stands out as an exceptional mushroom due to the special growing conditions required. The harvesting process can be a challenge: to get 1 kg from 1,000kg spores, you need to harvest 1,000kg! Additionally, collecting them without chopping requires special methods - making it one of more expensive supplements! ORGANO, however, has perfected this method so that our customers can enjoy the many benefits of Reishi in a 100% organic form.

What is the best method to take Ganoderma lucidum?

Water-soluble Ganoderma Lucidum Extracts can maximize the benefits. Water-soluble extracts are less concentrated than ethanolic ones, but they retain more of the beneficial compounds. They are also easier to digest.

Our water-soluble Reishi Extract combines three components: spores (which support immune health), mycelium (which connects them together) and the lucidum-cap to create a powerful blend with unique health benefits. Each part offers unique health benefits and properties: for example spores have high concentrations antioxidants which this site support immune health, while mycelium acts as a network connecting cells - with antibacterial and antifungal properties. Lastly, the Lucidum cap has powerful polysaccharides that reduce inflammation and support healthy hepatic function.

Reishi mushrooms are available in many forms. Some people use them directly in their cooking while others take powdered supplements or capsules containing the mushroom. It has shown to be effective in treating a variety conditions, including cancer, high blood pressure, arthritis and chronic fatigue.

Reishi increases energy levels, lowers cholesterol levels and protects the heart. Studies have shown that it can also relieve depression and anxiety symptoms. Reishi polysaccharides have immunostimulatory qualities as they promote the proliferation of T and b lymphocytes, splenic mononuclear cells (SMC), natural killer cells (NK) and dendritic cell - providing many health benefits.

Organo Gold’s natural approach results in more Ganoderma-spores to be used in Poudre de Spores Ganoderma, making these mushrooms much rarer. Our Ganoderma mushrooms, which resemble fine white rice powder, are only harvested when they are in their natural reproduction cycle and cannot by artificial means be reproduced. One kilogram of our prized Reishi mushroom powder is made from 1,000kg of this special spore-powder!
