Erykah Badu has joined forces with Cookies founder Berner to introduce her own strain: "That Badu." The music legend and entrepreneur describes this Limoncello hybrid from Mad Cow Genetics a lemon aroma that "just keeps you going through the day" without feeling overwhelmed.
Cookie storefronts will be hosting an event to launch this collaboration on International Women's Day (March 8). The event will feature Badu's collection of products, including ceramic rolling trays with blue and white designs inspired by ancient Qinghua Ceramics.

Erykah, the Grammy Award-winning Neo Soul icon, is now a cannabis enthusiast. Recently, she teamed up with entrepreneur Berner and introduced "The Badu", her very own strain of cannabis and tea set that bears her name. Badu boasts about its lemony taste, which "reminds [her] of a ballad." Mad Cow Genetics grows a variety that has subtle lemon flavor and citrus notes.

That Badu Technology Tea
Cookies' first non-psychoactive herbal mushroom tea was developed in partnership by Erykah Badu. Concocted of vanilla- and bergamot-flavored black tea leaves decaffeinated for maximum enjoyment and packed with 10mg CBD/5mg CBG to reduce stress levels and promote relaxation.
Badu's goal in this collaboration was to empower and uphold women. The name of this strain and its terpene profile were inspired by her song "On & On" and her desire to empower her fans. Ideal for morning rituals, or to help focus throughout the entire day.
Badu is an outspoken cannabis advocate. She had a weed brand named after. Furthermore, she's supported numerous cannabis-related causes - from doula services to working towards attaining her medical marijuana license in Texas.

Cookies developed this strain in partnership with Lemonchello 28, and its parentage is an indica crossbreed with Jet Fuel Gelato. Erykah has always been a strong advocate for women's rights. She's teaming up with Cookies Cannabis to launch That Badu as part of Women's History Month. The premium range is designed with women's needs in mind, and will debut on International Women's Day (March 8). A second wave of items will debut around Mother's Day: 14 May is planned as launch date.
Badu’s vision for her brand has been fully realized throughout the entire creation process, from research and testing through to packaging design. All products feature a purple-and-white pattern reminiscent of ancient Chinese Qinghua Ceramics. This includes her porcelain tray for rolling joint and Roberto Lugo’s vase-shaped Bong, which she affectionately called "Woman Vessel." Together they worked closely together on creating something which celebrates both beauty and ritual associated with cannabis use.
Badu's first cannabis strain will be a cross of Lemonchello and Jet Fuel Gelato. It will be available as eighths or pre-rolls from all Cookies and Lemonnade outlets in California beginning on March 8th.
